HORSE RIDING IN DUBAI

HORSE RIDING IN DUBAI

There are quite a few options for Horse Riding in the Desert here in Dubai, it is an awesome past time that is accessible to a very wide spectrum of residents and tourists here in Dubai. Horse Riding is one of the most ancient past times since Man domesticated the Horse, for over a thousand years, Man has explored the desert on horse back and camel back, now you can too with Al Jumooh Equestrian Club.
Horse Riding in Dubai is amazing, check out this video from Al Jumooh Equestrian Club in Awir, where you can book and go horse riding in the desert in Dubai too!
Horses are trained and ridden for practical working purposes such as in police work or for controlling herd animals on a ranch. They are also used in competitive sports including, but not limited to, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, reining, show jumping, tent pegging, vaulting, polo, horse racing, driving, and rodeo. (See additional equestrian sports listed later in this article for more examples.) Some popular forms of competition are grouped together at horse shows, where horses perform in a wide variety of disciplines. Horses (and other equids such as mules and donkeys) are used for non-competitive recreational riding such as fox hunting, trail riding or hacking. There is public access to horse trails in almost every part of the world; many parks, ranches, and public stables offer both guided and independent riding. Horses are also used for therapeutic purposes, both in specialized paraequestrian competition as well as non-competitive riding to improve human health and emotional development.
Horses are also driven in harness racing, at horse shows and in other types of exhibition, historical reenactment or ceremony, often pulling carriages. In some parts of the world, they are still used for practical purposes such as farming.
Horses continue to be used in public service: in traditional ceremonies (parades, funerals), police and volunteer mounted patrols, and for mounted search and rescue.
Riding halls enable the training of horse and rider in all weathers as well as indoor competition riding.

Learning to Ride Horses with Al Jumooh Stable

Al Jumooh Stable - Aweer

Horse Riding in the Desert!

Did you see how awesome that video is??? I went to visit Al Jumooh to see what kind of stable it is and whether they would be able to teach me horse riding last winter, and I was lucky that they were. They were so nice and kind, the instructors really know their stuff, and I was a bit sad to see there were children taking horse riding lessons right next to me and they were able to stand in their saddle and do amazing tricks while I can barely stay on top of he horse.

Are you thinking about going for horse riding lessons? Check out this list of things to expect made especially for beginners.

I Love Horse Riding in Dubai

I love the feel of the saddle and the open air, and living in dubai you do not really get a chance to get out in nature as much as you would like to. Sure we have the beach and the sea, but its not really nature because there arent any animals.

Horse Riding in Dubai through the DesertThats where desert rides and desert hacks come into their own. When the weather in dubai is just right, you can go horse riding in the desert! I was confused when I first searched for this online in dubai because they call it a 'desert hack', which sounds very frightening. I mean what on earth is a hack! Isnt that with computers?

But I learnt that desert hacks and desert horse riding mean one and the same thing, basically you are in the desert and you ride on a horse! Usually you follow guides and they take you on a pre-determined trail in the desert.

Now the stable or equestrian centre you choose is very important. I had no idea until I started horse riding for a while, the degree to which horses require very careful care. They can get all kinds of skin conditions, sicknesses, infections.. You name it.

Make sure you find a great stable where they REALLY look after their horses, you can usually spot them from a mile away, check the hooves of the horses to see if they are caved in or if they are ok, check their skin, especially around their eyes.

The type of horse at the stable will determine how much meat they have on them, some endurance horses are kept at lower weight to enable them to run at longer distances. I thought they were malnourished but I was assured by a vet this was totally normal and when you think about the difference between fat cats living in houses and scrawny wiry alley cats you get the idea.

It is great fun riding and I REALLY think you should try it!
